Dear Parents, Carers and Friends
I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the bank holiday at the end of Term 5 and the sunshine that came with it. What a difference warm days and clear blue skies make. Long may they last.
GARDEN CLUB APPEAL
The Gardening Club are appealing for any seeds you may have at home that you will not be sowing. Any donations can be left at the school office. They would also be appreciative of any old tools that you may no longer have a use for; these can also be left at the school office.
HOT AND SUNNY DAYS
If the sun continues to shine during this term, children are encouraged to bring sun hats to school to wear at playtimes. Children can also bring sun block to school on the condition that the containers they bring are clearly marked and that the children are able to apply it themselves. Children may also bring extra bottled water to school as long as it is clearly labelled.

If your child is interested in taking part in this event, please can they complete the form expressing their interest in doing so. The form will be sent out in Week 2, Term 6.
ATTENDANCE UPDATE
Congratulations to those children who surpassed the National Average for Attendance which is currently 95.6%.Whole School Term 5, 2013 attendance at our school was 95.61%.
Our aim this term, with your support, is to ensure that our school attendance continues to exceed the National Average for Attendance.
ADVISORY NO PARKING ZONES and WALKING THROUGH CAR PARKS
Please be reminded that the zig - zag markings outside of the school are there for your child’s safety.
Please do not park on them or use this area as a ‘drop-off’ or collection point.
Parents, carers and children should not use either of the school’s driveways as pedestrian access routes. These are roads and should not be used as pathways. Your compliance with these requests will be appreciated and will ensure your child is kept out of harm’s way.
UPDATED UNIFORM AND DRESS CODE FOR TERM 1, SEPTEMBER 2013
Many thanks to the parents / carers who took part in a consultation workshop about the revision of the school’s uniform and dress code. An updated Uniform and Dress Code will take effect from Term 1, 2013. This will be issued to all parents / carers in Week 2, Term 6.

Looking Back and Celebrating Term 5
PCSO Drake has been supporting the school’s Junior PCSO’s.A teacher from John Spendluffe Technology College delivered Maths Master Classes to some of our Year 5 pupils.
Cannon Chris has been in school taking assemblies.
Guillemot and Cormorant Classes having been taking part in a ‘buddy’ reading initiative.
All classes have improved reading areas for children and a new and exciting reading area has been
created in the corridor that links the hall to the playground.
Parents / carers have taken part in a consultation workshop with regards to the school’s uniform and dress code.
SHARE have been carrying out a range of craft activities with Year 1 pupils and parents.
